Hanover soccer club is operated 100% off the support of local volunteers.

We are always open to additional support and assistance to whatever degree you can provide.

Below are the areas in greatest need right now.


Volunteer Roles:

Coaches (All Levels | Ages 4-Adult):

  • Run and manage team practices and the team bench at games.
    • Additional training is available for coaches looking to improve their knowledge of the game (please inquire at info@hanoversoccer.ca)
  • Communicate with players the schedule and any changes

Social Media (Website, Facebook, Instagram & Video/Photos)

  • Do you like using social media? We need people like you!
    • Post events and updates on Social Media
    • Take photos & Video around the community to share
  • Have video or photo editing skills? We need editors and graphic designers as well
  • Know how to use WordPress? Create beautiful and functional websites? We need your help!

Board Positions:

All board positions come with the added responsibility of attending board meetings and being a part of the decision making process for Hanover Soccer matters.

Secretary:

  • Manage club general mailbox. Helping parents with FAQs and forwarding on emails to chair members.
  • Taking meeting notes and sending to the team following meetings.

Equipment Coordinator

  • Connect with suppliers in February
  • Monitor registration numbers for order quantities
  • Organize all your equipment… balls, cones, pinnies, pumps, bags, first aid kits, any other equipment. Toss anything that is no longer usable or unsafe. Take stock of what needs to be ordered in the way of equipment.
  • SHIRTS… Once numbers are roughly in for programs. Order as needed. Shirts only. White. Number shirts so there is low risk of overlap. Shirts are included as part of the registration for many programs.
  • Put equipment kits together once the equipment arrives.
  • Once shirts come in, organize to respective teams. Hand out with equipment kits.
  • Keep track of which teams pick up and who and what. Sign out equipment.
  • Once the season is over, collect back equipment only.

WYSA Coordinator (Competitive Teams Ages 9-18):

  • Connect with respective coaches and find out which teams will be playing in WYSA League. This must be done in January for outdoor and July for Indoor.
  • Register Teams when WYSA asks for it… usually in March and in August of respective outdoor/Indoor seasons
  • Once players are confirmed, register on them on the GOALLINE portal. Individual registration required for each player.
  • Assign all players to respective teams.
  • Register coaches same as players.
  • Create player cards OR get teams managers to make player cards. Player cards are required for all Developmental and Premier players. No player cards required for Rec players.
  • Provide game sheets and any other info/support to team managers/coaches as needed.

EYSL Coordinator (Recreational Teams Ages 9-18):

  • Connect with respective coaches and find out which teams will be playing in EYSL League.
  • Register Teams when EYSL league opens for the season.
  • Assign all players to respective teams.
  • Register coaches same as players.
  • Provide game sheets and any other info/support to team managers/coaches as needed.

Ref Coordinator:

  • Schedule referees for matches in Steinbach
  • Find replacement referees when necessary
  • Make sure referees are informed of rule changes & have attended regional training sessions.

Mini Coordinator:

  • Must love kids
  • Be able to work within a timeline (deadline).
  • Be flexible with parent- team requests.
  • Encouraging to volunteer coaches.
  • Work to support volunteer coaches with the tools needed to ensure their success (and FUN).
  • Being able to work within an excel based program is an asset.
  • Be able to communicate with parents regularly (let them know what’s going on).
  • Ask for help and/or assistance when needed.
